Virgin Islands Department of Labor (VIDOL) Announces 2025 Workers’ Compensation Maximum Wage Rate
USVI – Commissioner Gary Molloy of the Virgin Islands Department of Labor (VIDOL) announces an update to the Workers’ Compensation Maximum Wage Rate for 2025. Based on employment wage statistics provided by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the Average Weekly Wage in the Virgin Islands has been set at $996.60 per week.
As a result, the maximum benefit amount for Disability Income Benefits has been adjusted. Effective for injuries occurring on or after January 1, 2025, the new rates are:
• $664.00 per week (previously $662.00 per week)
• $132.88 per day (previously $132.40 per day)
This adjustment aligns with Title 24, Chapter 12, Section 254(c), which specifies that temporary total disability benefits shall be 66 2/3 percent of the employee’s weekly wage rate at the time of injury, capped at 66 2/3 percent of the Average Weekly Wage in the Virgin Islands. The minimum weekly benefit remains at $60.00, or the employee’s weekly wages if less than $60.00.
