National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) Employer Panel with Hiring Opportunities for Jobseekers with Disabilities

USVI-September 27, 2021- The Disability Rights Center of the VI (DRCVI) is hosting our first virtual Employer Recruitment Roundtable to celebrate National Disabilities Employment Awareness Month(NDEAM). The theme for NDEAM 2021, “America’s Recovery: Powered by Inclusion,” reflects the importance of ensuring that people with disabilities have full access to employment and community involvement during the national recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.

NDEAM is held each October to commemorate the many and varied contributions of people with disabilities to America’s workplaces and economy.
Though this is a virtual event, job seekers are encouraged to dress to impress and have an updated resume on hand. The current labor market information shows that job seekers have more power than before. This event encourages all interested to take control of this insight and begin to network. Participants are encouraged to attend this first virtual recruitment event with DRCVI in conjunction with the Social Security’s Ticket to Work program, Virgin Islands University Center on Development Disabilities, and ADA Territorial Coordinator. Support was also provided by the VI Economic Development Authority and Small Business Development Center at the University of the Virgin Islands.
Five employers with numerous openings will present on their recruitment process, screening, and career advancement opportunities. This event will feature employers such as VI Personnel Ritz Carlton, Select Temp Staffing, Schneider Regional Medical Center, Sion Farm Distillery/Mutiny Vodka.
